Aston Martin DB5 Introduction
Slightly upgrading DB4 which was predecessor of DB5, the Aston Martin DB5 was produced and released in 1963. It is most popular being the best and well known James Bond car seen in the Hollywood movies Goldfinger, Golden Eye, Thunderball, Tomorrow Never Dies and the new 2006's movie Casino Royal.
The better change between DB4 and DB5 is their engine. The DB5 has the engine enlarged from 3.7 L to 4.0 L. A very unusual DB5 was the shooting brake station wagon, and twelve of which were produced by independent coach builder Harold Radford.
The design defect with the station wagon was that here was no difference to the rear suspension. Drivers of shooting break would get this away when the cargo in the rear shifted at full velocity in the corner resulting in loss of control.
Aston Martin DB5 Vantage
The superior DB5 Vantage had three Weber carburetors. This locomotive generates 314 hp (234 kW). Just 65 DB5 Vantage coupes were produced.
Aston Martin DB5 Convertible
Only 123 DB5 convertibles were built, though they never used the normal Volante name. The convertible was produced from 1963 to 1965. Only 19 out of 123 convertibles produced were LHD.
