Aston Martin AMR2 Introduction
The Aston Martin AMR2 was an offered Group C normal racing automobile planed to be used by Aston Martin and their Proteus Technologies Inc. squad in the 1990 World Sports car Championship season. The plan was cancelled before it could be completed
With the locomotive too lacking horsepower, Callaway Cars Incorporated had kept their growth of their 6.0L V8 for Aston Martin, producing other 6.3L V8 that increased production from 600hp to 740hp. This locomotive was sited in an AMR1 for the last races of the 1989 season with good winner.
The locomotive would thus be used for the AMR2. With this combination, the AMR2 was seed as being able of making 230mph, a large advance over the AMR1. With the plan and locomotive finalized, job began on the other cars in preparation for their entry in April 1990.
Unfortunately, the great price of racing and growing had caused Protech to take insolvent in February 1990, forcing the squad to end all growing of the AMR2 and stop speeding. No AMR2 frames were always completed, although winding tunnel models of the automobile even live.
