Aston Martin AMR1 Introduction

The Aston Martin AMR1 was a Group C pattern racing auto completed in 1989 for car maker Aston Martin. It participated in the 1989 World Sports car Championship season and 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Following Aston Martin's running efforts as a locomotive provider for Nimrod Racing and EMKA Racing in the other 1980s, it was determined that Aston Martin would try to make their personal automobile for the World Sports car Championship.

Thus in past 1987 a partnership between Aston Martin and Scottish speeding house Ecurie Ecosse would be made, creating an other party known as Proteus Technology Ltd. The squad would get and work the AMR1 plan, hitting the course for the best second during the 1989 season.

For the locomotive, Callaway would take 5.3L V8 units from the recently launched Aston Martin Virage, stopping upward with a 600hp 6.0L locomotive known as the RDP87. With this combination, a whole of five AMR1 build would be completed in other 1989.
